Job summary

Boise Cascade is seeking a machine operator at our Alabama plant. You will help run equipment, perform preventative tasks, and maintain clean, organized work areas to keep production flowing safely.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least six months in manufacturing, and willingness to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, including nights and overtime. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least six months of experience in manufacturing, farming, agriculture, carpentry, mechanical, construction, warehouse, or military environments.
• Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation.
• Willing to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Willing to work rotating 12‑hour shifts (days and nights).
• Willing to work in hot, cold, dusty and noisy environments and follow safety rules.
• Willing to wear PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment and participate in general production tasks.
• Maintain housekeeping to keep machinery functioning and safe.
• Troubleshoot, correct, and report maintenance issues on plant equipment.
• Perform minor routine maintenance and repairs to ensure machine reliability.
• Assist with loading/unloading, stacking, product grading, and forklift operations.
• Contribute to a team environment by cross-training and covering for operators during absences.
• Demonstrate initiative, urgency, and the ability to work in a team.
