Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring Production Workers for the Madison plywood facility. Starting pay is $20 per hour with a $2 night shift differential. Positions involve 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑2‑3 schedule, with day and night shifts available and overtime possible.

Employees operate mill machines, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot, dusty industrial environment. Orientation begins on days and permanent shifts follow orientation.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse, construction, landscaping, automotive or military environments or post-high school education in manufacturing/industrial.
• Forklift operation experience is preferred.
• Experience working with wood products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate various machines throughout the mill.
• Adjust to changing work schedules to meet business demands.
• Remove sawdust and other debris from production equipment.
• Assemble veneer cores by layering sheets according to patterns and project requirements.
• Follow plant safety and environmental guidelines and wear safety gear.
• Assist team members throughout the mill as needed.
• Pull and lift plywood or scraps up to 25 lbs.
• Perform tasks including lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing or pulling for up to 12 hours/day.
• Walk on elevated catwalks over 15 feet high to perform daily duties.
• Work in a hot, humid, dusty, cold and noisy industrial environment.
• Work a 10–12 hour rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
