Job Overview
As a Plumbing Technician at Crown Mechanical, you'll be a crucial part of our team, providing support to fellow technicians or working closely with a Lead Plumber, depending on your level of expertise. Your role will involve responding promptly to service calls, completing tasks efficiently, and maintaining high standards to minimize downtime.
What You'll Do:
- Precisely cut, thread, and bend pipes using measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Maintain and organize tools, vehicles, and equipment for optimal efficiency.
- Execute semi-skilled and unskilled labor tasks related to plumbing system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Disassemble and reassemble faulty plumbing equipment, replacing worn or damaged parts as needed.
- Secure pipes to structures using brackets and hangers to ensure stability.
- Conduct thorough inspections of plumbing systems to identify and resolve issues such as leaks and blockages.
- Utilize hand and power tools to drill holes and run piping through openings as required.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly, performing necessary cleaning of parts and equipment.
- Assist in trenching and hole digging for pipe installation, as well as in fitting new fixtures and piping.
- Remove insulation from pipe ends, connect pipes to fittings for soldering, and troubleshoot plumbing issues as they arise.
What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or technical training in Plumbing systems preferred.
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- 1-3 years' experience as a plumber.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in assembling and installing plumbing fixtures.
- Knowledge of industry codes and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
- Team-oriented mindset with the capability to work independently when necessary.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Comfort working on ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and uneven surfaces.
- Willingness to work in attics and crawlspaces.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Experience operating heavy earth moving equipment is a plus.
