Job summary

Polk Mechanical Company in Houston is seeking a Plumbing Take-Off Estimator to join our Pre-Construction and Estimating team. This role focuses on producing accurate plumbing quantity take-offs and requires hands-on plumbing experience.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years in the plumbing trade, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. We offer excellent benefits including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on plumbing trade experience.
• Trade-specific blueprint reading required.
• Ability to understand specifications and project requirements.
• Ability and willingness to work in-office.
• Previous estimating or take-off exposure preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate plumbing quantity take-offs for project estimates.
• Review drawings and specifications; understand project requirements.
• Deliver reliable quantity data to support estimators.

Skills

Hands-on plumbing trade experience (commercial plumbing systems)

Strong plumbing blueprint reading and interpretation skills

Ability to understand specifications and overall project requirements

Familiarity with domestic water, sanitary, storm, and specialty plumbing systems

High attention to detail

Strong time management skills

Ability to work collaboratively with Estimators and Pre-Construction teams

Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
