Job summary

KEP Electric/IES RESIDENTIAL seeks a Plumbing Supervisor in Indianapolis to oversee residential plumbing operations at multiple construction sites. Job description

Plumbing Supervisor - oversight of residential plumbing at multiple construction sites in Indianapolis. The supervisor ensures quality, safety, code compliance, and timely project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily plumbing operations at residential new construction sites.
  • Assign, schedule, and manage plumbing crews; monitor attendance, productivity, and workmanship quality.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, site plans, and job specifications to ensure proper layout and installation.
  • Ensure all plumbing systems meet local codes, job specifications, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, site superintendents, inspectors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide on-site technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field crews.
  • Manage material orders, deliveries, and inventory across multiple active job sites.
  • Conduct routine quality assurance inspections to verify compliance and performance.
  • Maintain a strong culture of safety, leading toolbox talks, safety audits, and adherence to OSHA (and KEP) standards.
  • Mentor and train apprentices and journeymen toward licensing and skill development.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress, incidents, materials, and labor using mobile and digital reporting tools.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years of residential plumbing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • In-depth knowledge of rough-in, top-out, and finish plumbing for single-family or multi-family construction.
  • Familiarity with Indiana plumbing codes, inspection procedures, and permitting requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills; able to manage multiple crews and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient with mobile apps, digital reporting tools, and scheduling platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Indianapolis, Indiana Plumbing License.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification.
  • Experience managing multi-site residential projects or subdivisions.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs across active construction environments.
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in Indiana weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).
  • Ability to work in crawlspaces, attics, and elevated areas as required.
