Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Plumbing Superintendent to base out of Elm City, NC. The role directs all plumbing field operations from mobilization through project completion and leads foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors to ensure safe, productive execution.

You will coordinate daily and weekly work plans to meet milestones, monitor productivity, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule commitments. A strong safety culture is essential on active sites.

Qualifications

• Journeyman plumbing license required and OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience supervising large industrial plumbing crews on complex projects.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, isometrics and BIM drawings.
• Strong safety focus and adherence to standards.
• Proficiency with construction management software and field coordination tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre-task planning.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and site safety rules are followed.
• Verify installations meet drawings, specs, codes and quality standards.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs and construction documents.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, punch lists and turnover.
• Collaborate with PMs, Engineers, BIM/VDC teams, GCs and Owners.
• Coordinate material deliveries and labor scheduling.
• Resolve field conflicts to minimize schedule impact.
• Maintain short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Manage labor allocations and workflow sequencing.

• Manage labor allocations and workflow sequencing to maximize efficiency.

Essential Skills

• 8+ years of industrial plumbing construction experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a Superintendent, General Superintendent, or equivalent leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial plumbing systems and installation means and methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, isometric drawings, and BIM coordination drawings.
• Experience coordinating large craft labor forces and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and industrial jobsite safety practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, manufacturing, power generation, food processing, or data center construction.
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Navisworks, or similar construction technologies.

• Background in mechanical contracting environments with self-perform labor.

• Ability to work in fast-paced industrial construction environments.

Work Environment

Large-scale industrial construction projects, including manufacturing facilities, pharmaceutical plants, data centers, power generation facilities, and other mission-critical environments. Active industrial construction sites with a fast-paced environment. Project-based travel may be required. Ability to work on active industrial construction sites, capable of climbing ladders, navigating uneven terrain, and accessing elevated work areas.

This is a Permanent position based out of Elm City, NC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
