Job summary

RK Industries in Aurora, CO, is hiring a Shop Superintendent - Plumbing to lead the plumbing shop floor end-to-end. You will manage fabrication, prefabrication, and assembly activities, ensuring on-time delivery while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will mentor Foremen and Leads, develop shop talent, coordinate with VDC and engineering teams, and drive continuous improvement across production processes and workflows to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of plumbing fabrication, prefabrication, or shop operations in commercial/industrial settings.
• Experience leading shop teams and frontline leaders in fast-paced environments.
• Advanced knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, fabrication processes, and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, fabrication documents, specs, and shop drawings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plumbing fabrication and prefabrication operations, ensuring safety and productivity.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, quality standards, and timelines.
• Read drawings and anticipate scope changes to keep production ahead of schedules.
• Lead planning, fabrication, bundling, staging, and shipment of plumbing components.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with transportation partners to support milestones.
• Ensure labor hours and timecards align with budgets and tracking.
• Collaborate with VDC, detailing, and engineering to transition work packages to production.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field teams to drive schedule adherence and project success.
• Maintain high standards for quality control and client expectations.
• Lead workforce planning and development within the shop and recruit where needed.
• Mentor Foremen and craft professionals to build next-gen leadership.
• Champion RK's safety culture and accountability.
