Job summary

Golden Plumbing is seeking Plumbing Service Technicians to respond to residential and commercial service calls across Middle Tennessee. You will diagnose issues, explain repair options, and complete quality service work while driving a take-home vehicle.

Expect a schedule Monday–Friday with overtime as needed. Training and meetings occur 1–2 mornings per week; travel may occur within a 60-mile radius. A strong customer-service mindset is essential.

• Provide excellent customer service and professional communication during service calls.
• Complete ServiceTitan documentation, invoice summaries, and photos.
• Collect payment at service completion when required.

About the Position

Golden Plumbing is hiring Plumbing Service Technicians to respond to residential and commercial service calls throughout Middle Tennessee. This is a customer-facing field position focused on diagnosing plumbing issues, explaining appropriate repair or replacement options, and completing quality plumbing service work. Technicians are assigned their own take-home service vehicle and typically drive directly from home to their first call, which is scheduled for 8:00 AM. Approximately one to two mornings per week, technicians report to the shop at 7:00 AM for company meetings, technical training, and continued development.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to scheduled residential and commercial plumbing service calls.
• Diagnose plumbing problems, concerns, and system conditions accurately and professionally.
• Explain repair and replacement options clearly so customers can make informed decisions.
• Complete service and repair work that falls within the scope of the Service Division.
• Work directly with Project Managers on larger or more complex projects to develop bids, estimates, and installation scopes.
• Transition larger installation projects to the Install Division while maintaining clear documentation and communication.
• Perform work in accordance with applicable plumbing codes and Golden Plumbing quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and professional jobsite while protecting the customer's property.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally throughout the service call.
• Complete required ServiceTitan documentation, invoice summaries, job notes, and before/during/after photos.
• Collect payment at completion of service when required.

Schedule & On-Call

• Primary schedule is Monday through Friday, with overtime as necessary.
• First service call is generally scheduled for 8:00 AM.
• Technicians report to the shop at 7:00 AM approximately one to two times per week for training and meetings.
• On-call rotation is generally one week every 6-8 weeks.

Vehicle, Tools & Equipment

• Each Service Technician is assigned a take-home company service vehicle and operates one technician per vehicle.
• Golden Plumbing provides specialty equipment including ProPress tools, PEX expansion tools, ladders, and drain-cleaning equipment.
• Company iPad and uniforms are provided.
• Technicians are responsible for their own required personal hand tools. A personal tool list will be provided.
• A valid driver's license and insurable driving record are required.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry plumbing materials, tools, and equipment.
• Work in crawl spaces, confined areas, and from ladders.
• Perform bending, kneeling, standing, digging, and other physically demanding plumbing work.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Service Area

Golden Plumbing is based in Smyrna, Tennessee. The typical service area extends approximately 60 miles from the shop, although some calls and projects may require travel beyond the normal service area.
