About the Role
We’re partnering with a leading mechanical contractor to hire a Project Managerwith experience in commercial plumbing systems. Based in Sacramento, this individual will take ownership of projects ranging from $50K to $25M+, from estimating through execution. This is a client-facing role with full accountability for project delivery, cost management, scheduling, and field coordination.
Note: This role requires direct experience managing commercial plumbing projects. Candidates without relevant construction industry experience will not be considered.
What You’ll Do:
Lead plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout
Coordinate field labor needs in partnership with field supervisors
Develop project budgets, forecasts, and billing schedules
Review and execute contracts, proposals, and change orders
Communicate regularly with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Organize and lead preconstruction meetings and ongoing project updates
Utilize internal resources across engineering, purchasing, and accounting
Support recruiting, coaching, and mentoring of junior team members
Participate in department growth initiatives and technical process improvements
What You Bring:
5+ years of experience managing or estimating plumbing projects
Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget in the field
Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and code compliance
Experience coordinating field labor and subcontractors
Ability to manage client relationships and drive repeat business
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High integrity and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
Compensation:
$95,000 – $160,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is also offered.
