Position Summary

Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Senior Project Manager and Business Development Lead with demonstrated success in the environmental permitting process. The successful candidate will join our existing consulting division and focus on our western expansion effort, which includes expanding Merjent's presence in the western U.S. Technical knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting regulations is required. This is a remote work position; however, candidates must be based in the western US, with preference given to candidates located in Colorado and Arizona.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The anticipated annual salary ranges from $141,000 to $178,000, dependent on qualifications and experience. The position is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for projects in the western US, varying in size and complexity.
  2. Manage project budgets, schedules, and risks using standard project management tools.
  3. Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify new opportunities.
  4. Participate in proposal development and marketing efforts for western expansion.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a natural resource or environmental field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant project management experience in the western US.
  • Experience with natural resources permitting, including wetlands, streams, endangered species, mitigation, Clean Water Act, floodplain, NEPA, ESA, and related areas.
  • Existing client relationships and business opportunities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and self-starting abilities.
