Job summary

Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Water Cleanup in Wausau, WI is seeking a Plumbing Operations Manager to lead our residential plumbing department, coach technicians, and drive growth across the service area.

You will oversee daily operations, develop staff, monitor performance, and partner with dispatch and leadership to deliver exceptional customer experiences. A growth-minded leader will thrive in this role as our team expands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of plumbing industry experience.
• Leadership experience managing plumbing technicians or service teams.
• Strong knowledge of residential plumbing service operations.
• Proven ability to coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Experience with budgeting, KPIs, forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop residential plumbing technicians.
• Conduct ride-alongs, field coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Review department performance metrics and implement improvements.
• Work closely with dispatch, customer service, and company leadership to maximize scheduling efficiency.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and technician development.
• Manage departmental budgets, inventory, fleet coordination, and vendor relationships.
• Oversee warranty claims and operational processes.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Ensure safety standards, company procedures, and quality expectations are consistently met.
• Drive revenue growth while maintaining operational efficiency and profitability.

What You'll Do

As the Plumbing Operations Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the plumbing department while helping technicians succeed and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead, coach, and develop residential plumbing technicians

• Comfortable using scheduling software, reporting tools, tablets, and other business technology
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
