Job summary

Boston College is seeking an Assistant Supervisor, Plumbing Operations to lead a team of thirteen SEIU plumbers across four campuses and 167 buildings. You will oversee potable water, hot water, steam, sanitary sewer, process water and fire protection systems, ensuring reliable operation.

You will partner with the Supervisor, Trades Services and other leaders to manage small capital projects, train staff, and maintain strong morale and discipline within the shop.

Qualifications

• MA Journeyman Plumbing license with at least five years of licensed experience.
• Ability to obtain MA Master Plumbing License within three years of hire.
• Ability to obtain Wastewater license within 12 months of being hired.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Experience supervising union plumbers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee thirteen union plumbers and direct all plumbing maintenance across four campuses and 167 buildings.
• Administer potable water, hot water, steam, sanitary sewer, process water and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate with supervisors and directors on plumbing infrastructure and small capital projects.
• Train, develop, and manage morale and discipline of the plumbing shop.
• Work schedule 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday; respond to campus emergencies.
