B&I Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Med Gas Technician to join Florida’s growing mechanical contracting team. You will work with plumbing equipment and blueprints to install, repair and/ or assemble plumbing fixtures and piping on commercial sites.

Minimum three years of commercial plumbing experience is required. A Med Gas certification is a plus. The role emphasizes safety, timely reporting, and cooperating with a team that includes NCCER-certified training and an ESOP company

As a Commercial Plumber, you will be responsible for working with plumbing equipment and blueprints to assemble, repair and/or install plumbing fixtures, and piping and conduct various plumbing tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Interpret specifications and blueprints as needed for completion of job specifics. Install plumbing equipment, piping and assemblies at job site.
• Ensure all material, equipment and tools are in hand to complete assigned project.
• Follow company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Study schedules and ensure timely reporting to job sites are assigned.
• Analyze and resolve work problems with any assigned Helpers.
• Ensure accuracy of own time records.

Minimum Requirements

• Med Gas with current Certification is a plus.
• Minimum of three (3) years commercial plumbing required.
• Understand shop math; work skillfully with tools, metals and machines.
• Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches or blueprints.
• Work within precise limits and standards.
• Appropriate journeyman experience.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with Planning Calendars.
• Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
• Rate information using measurable standards

Physical Requirements

Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).

Must be able to hear, and speak clearly with professional standard grammar.

Must use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull and lift.

This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
