Overview
Manage safety, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, profits, and sales growth of one or more departments. Lead the sales effort for the department and continually prospect for new customers. Install, oversee and coordinate production efforts at various job sites, ensuring all work is performed within customer’s operational schedule. Conduct business in accordance with PPC and MetroPower, Inc. mission and vision statements.

Responsibilities
- Billing and Collections: Bill customers immediately after project completion, with a goal of bi-weekly on larger projects. Review and manage status reports, accounts receivables, and I5 Doc. Productivity: Facilitate constant process improvement in the area of production and efficiency in our field labor. Implement pre-fab, WENG standards, and other productivity improvement tools to consistently have increases in our field production. Achieve minimum productivity requirements of 100% while striving for expected productivity requirements of 110%. Manage billings for positive cash flow. Growth: Prospect for leads continually. Have at least 10 new prospects going at all times. Provide budgets, estimate proposals, and build relationships to achieve a min. of 10% growth in sales per year.
- Planning And Monitoring: Forecast what is to be done on a weekly basis, when, and by whom; forecast factors to max. efficiency. OPS Compliance: Utilize the OPS System (PL8, PL1, OPS 7-11) in projects 800+ man hrs. Monitor work authority. Day-to-day planning and acquisition of materials and labor necessary to complete tasks at hand. Ensure that customer schedules/deadlines are met and plant production resumes at/before customer’s deadline. Assure compliance of mandatory monthly reports, such as VIRs and apprenticeship OJT hours.
- Personnel Development: Train and mentor electricians, mechanics, apprentices, leadpeople, and other department managers as needed. Provide personnel development plans, monitoring, coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities to direct reports. Ensure development of at least one candidate to back up your position. Assess development needs with your supervisor for incorporation into your development plan. Make recommendations for personnel decisions, including hiring, firing, and performance/disciplinary issues.
- Customer Service And Satisfaction: Develop and maintain relationships with customers; ensure high quality service to guarantee repeat sales and favorable recommendations. Take prompt action to resolve customer complaints. Survey all customers and achieve a minimum rating of 9.0 out of 10, with a goal of 9.8. Be available at customer’s request; may require long hours, weekends, and holiday work. Complete projects, jobs, and reports effectively.
- Employee Satisfaction: Achieve minimum score of 80%, with a goal of 91%, on employee satisfaction. Provide leadership to the department, lead by example, and communicate to ensure smooth operations. Promote teamwork and cooperation across the department, branch, and company.
- Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination: Pre-plan and identify methods to eliminate hazards daily by task. Observe and address hazards in others, uphold safety as the priority, promote open communication between field and office regarding safety concerns, and assist in accident investigations. Ensure all employees are up-to-date on required safety training (OSHA, First Aid, CPR, etc.).
Qualifications And Requirements
- 5 years' experience leading workplace safety efforts required.
- 3-5 years prior experience in plumbing.

- Positive safety attitude and personal integrity; ability to work effectively with customers and service their needs, including weekends, holidays, extended hours, and varying shifts as required. Technical knowledge for the applicable trade. Ability to think conceptually, apply practical solutions, and make quick decisions. Self-starting, strong work ethics, and the ability to earn trust from customers and employees.
