Job description

Plumbing Manager

To manage the department operations of the company which includes overseeing the installations of the crews, ordering and purchasing equipment and materials, inventory stocking program, oversee all warehouse functions. Clear and concise communications with company customers, including keeping customers appraised as to company schedule and requested lead time. Oversee the training and efficiency of company installers. Implementation and enforcement of company’s purchasing policy. The overall supervision of the company’s installation crew and the profitability of installation jobs. Must be familiar with all applicable codes and ensure work is done properly, within allotted timelines and on budget.

Required Qualifications/Experience
  • Must pass drug and background screens
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable through company insurance carrier
  • 2+ years management experience (Adds $3,500 to Base Salary)
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office/Google Docs
  • Ability to read business reports and translate information into actionable items (Adds $1,500 to base salary)
  • Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years management experience in a trade industry. (Adds $2,500 to Base Salary)
  • Valid plumber’s license (For Plumbing Department Manager) (Adds $500 to Base Salary)
  • Master Electrician license (For Electrical Department Manager) (Adds $500 to Base Salary)
  • EPA certification (For HVAC Department Manager) (Adds $250 to Base Salary)
  • NATE Certification (For HVAC Department Manager) (Adds $250 to Base Salary)
  • Experience with ServiceTitan or similar program (Adds $1,000 to Base Salary)
  • Familiarity will all applicable codes preferred (Adds $1,000 to Base Salary)
Essential Duties
  • Work with the lead installers to ensure professional execution of projects
  • Update job schedule and layout schedule
  • Review new jobs with Install teams
  • Responsible for profitability of the department
  • Check prices with vendors to ensure competitive pricing of equipment and materials
  • Provide accounting with daily billing by end of the day
  • Approve electronic timecards
  • Ensure crews work thoroughly and promptly on all install jobs providing the highest level of customer service while meeting deadlines and staying within budget
  • Manages the performance of the install crews to ensure completion of work orders in timely manner and ensures all city codes, OSHA and EPA regulations have been followed.
  • Ensures employees participate in training opportunities to advance skills and knowledge.
  • Schedules and plans the work to meet timelines.
  • Promotes the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of the Sales and Install teams during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities to include hiring, counseling, mentoring and terminating employees
  • Performance documentation of the installers
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules/logs, and expedite workflow
  • Evaluate new procedures, processes, and equipment
  • Secure supplies, materials and equipment for daily work projects
  • Train employees in safety matters, procedures and equipment operation
  • Address errors and complaints
  • Provide service to customers by answering questions, providing information, making referrals and assuring appropriate follow-through and/or resolution
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet company goals and objectives
  • Ensure permits and inspections are completed
  • Be familiar with all applicable codes
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Work Environment: This position will work in an office environment with controlled temperature. This position is will also require field supervision of personnel working in extreme conditions including heat, cold, wet, wind, sunlight, absence of light, insects, animals, mammals, reptiles and other conditions deemed by worksite. They may be required to be in confined spaces for short periods of time.

Physical Demands: The use of sight, touch, hearing, finger dexterity, reaching, bending, stooping, walking, sitting, squatting, kneeling, holding, carrying objects, and lifting of objects up to 100 pounds. May involve use of tools and equipment such as hand tools and ladders including extension ladders.
