Job summary

EMI Services, a subsidiary of TechFlow, is seeking a Plumbing General Maintenance Worker (GMW) to perform basic plumbing, maintenance, and repair of fixtures and equipment in and around buildings on Fort Jackson. Requires general plumbing knowledge and ability to read plans, operate plumbing tools, and follow codes; eligible for an insurance and benefits package.

Qualifications

4+ years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades.
Valid DL with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations.

Responsibilities

Performs general repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains using specialized equipment.
May bend pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine, or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand under supervision.
Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipe composed of metal, pvc, fiberglass and vitrified clay.
Joins pipe by use of bolted flanges, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
