EMI Services, a part of TechFlow, is seeking a Plumber to support mission-critical infrastructure at Fort Jackson. Primary duties include installing, repairing and maintaining water, waste and drainage systems in accordance with codes.

The ideal candidate is Backflow Certified, has 3+ years plumbing experience, and can operate safely in diverse settings while adhering to health standards.

Qualifications

• Backflow certified plumber with 3+ years experience in plumbing trades.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• U.S. citizenship to access military installations.

Responsabilités

• Repair and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures and fittings.
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipe.
• Join pipe using bolted flanges, fittings, solder, solvent and caulks.
• Read pressure gauges to detect leaks and ensure system integrity.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets and water heaters.
• Follow health and safety standards at all times.

EMI Services is hiring a Plumber to support mission‑critical infrastructure at Fort Jackson! . Primary responsibilities of the Plumber includes assembly, install and repair of pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems. Plumbers ensure that water supply networks, waste and drainage systems are installed, repaired and maintained according to specifications and established building codes. The ideal EMI Plumber is Backflow Certified and has experience working in diverse settings while following all health and safety standards.

Salary

TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE $29.07 per hour!

$23.98/ hr. plus $5.09 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plumbing - replace washers in leaky faucets, mend burst pipes, and open clogged drains using specialized equipment (jetter)
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipe - composed of metal, pvc, fiberglass and vitrified clay
• Join pipe by use of bolted flanges, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints
• May bend pipe to required angle using pipe-bending tool
• Fills pipe system with water or air and read pressure gauge to determine if system is leaking
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Essential Skills

• Experience in maintaining, repairing, installing and operating plumbing systems - includes pipes, traps, plumbing fixtures, back flow prevention systems, water and drain lines, pressure vessels and control system
• Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including alterations and repairs
• Follows verbal instructions and adheres to policies and procedures
• Adaptable and flexible in work situations
• Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
• PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies - Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years experience in the plumbing trades
• Backflow certification
• Duty Phone
• Valid driver's license complaint with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
• Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
• Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
• Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
• Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment
• May spend long hours in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain
• Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
• May also come in contact with potential poisons and gases that could cause injury or illness
• Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with sewer and water
