Plumbing Lead Installer
Position Overview
The Plumbing Lead Installer will lead and perform residential plumbing installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and large-scale plumbing projects. This role is responsible for overseeing plumbing installation work, coordinating with team members, ensuring projects are completed according to specifications, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer service.
The Plumbing Lead Installer will inspect plumbing systems, diagnose issues using equipment such as leak detection devices and sewer cameras, and perform or oversee appropriate repairs. The role also involves communicating with customers, managing job-site activities, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and in compliance with applicable plumbing codes and safety standards.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Lead and perform residential plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Oversee plumbing crews and provide direction to installers and technicians on job sites.
- Assemble, install, repair, and maintain residential plumbing systems.
- Install and connect pipes, toilets, drains, water heaters, gas lines, and other plumbing equipment.
- Lead large plumbing projects, including re-piping, drain cleaning, and sewer service work.
- Inspect plumbing systems and troubleshoot issues using diagnostic equipment, including leak detection devices and sewer cameras.
- Repair or replace defective plumbing components and determine appropriate solutions for identified issues.
- Respond to service calls and provide on-site troubleshooting and technical support.
- Coordinate job-site activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Review project requirements, materials, and installation plans before and during the work.
- Ensure plumbing installations are completed according to applicable codes, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, maintenance activities, materials, and service work performed.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding plumbing issues, recommended solutions, project progress, and completed work.
- Identify opportunities for additional plumbing services, including drain cleaning, re-piping, sewer services, and other required repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Train, mentor, and assist less experienced plumbing installers and technicians.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable plumbing regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a residential plumbing installer or in a related plumbing field.
- Experience leading plumbing crews or overseeing residential plumbing projects preferred.
- Plumbing Tradesman or Journeyman License.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems and property maintenance practices.
- Hands‑on experience with plumbing installation, repairs, drain cleaning, re‑piping, and sewer services.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment such as leak detection devices and sewer cameras.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to read and understand plumbing plans, specifications, and project requirements.
