Job summary

Moore's Electrical & Mechanical in Blacksburg, VA, is seeking a Plumbing Foreman to lead plumbing installs on commercial projects including K-12, university, and healthcare facilities.

You will read drawings, prepare Bills of Materials, lay out and install piping (PVC, CPVC, iron, copper, brass) and fixtures, and train field crews while maintaining strong client relations and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
• Experience creating Bills of Materials from project drawings.
• Experience laying out and installing plumbing pipe and fixtures.
• Experience leading field crews and training staff.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Journeyman or Master Plumber card is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing installations across commercial construction sites.
• Review and interpret coordinated drawings for all trades.
• Prepare Bills of Materials from drawings and specs.
• Oversee layout and installation of PVC, CPVC, iron, copper, brass piping.
• Install fixtures including toilets, urinals, sinks, drains, vents.
• Mentor and supervise field staff and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain strong communication with clients and team.

The Role

The Plumbing Foreman will serve as an essential part of successful plumbing system installs as well as providing leadership and support on our commercial construction sites. Job sites will vary amongst commercial projects throughout the area. Projects will mainly consist of K-12, University, and Healthcare buildings.

What You'll Do

• Ability to read and interpret coordinated construction drawings for all trades.
• Ability to complete a 'Bill of Materials' based on the drawings and blueprints.
• Layout and installation of all types of plumbing pipe including PVC, CPVC, black iron, copper, brass, etc.
• Installation of plumbing fixtures including toilets, urinals, sinks, hoods, drains, vents, etc.
• Ability to lead and train all field staff
• Exceptional customer relational skills
• Great communication skills; both written and oral
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

You Bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate equipment as needed on site
• Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office, Internet, Email
• Understanding usage of technology - iPad, iPhone, applications, etc.
• Knowledge of steam systems
• Journeyman or Master Card
