Overview

We’re working with a well-established MEP consulting firm in Syracuse that has built a strong, steady pipeline of higher education and institutional work across Central New York. They’re looking to add a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to a tight-knit team where you won’t get buried—you’ll have real ownership of projects and direct exposure to clients. This is a good fit for someone who enjoys hands-on design work but also wants to be involved in the bigger picture—coordination, decision-making, and seeing projects through.

What you’ll be doing:

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing and/or fire protection systems for higher ed and institutional projects
• Develop layouts, calculations, and construction documents (AutoCAD/Revit)
• Coordinate with internal MEP teams as well as architects and external partners
• Participate in client meetings and site visits
• Take on increasing project responsibility over time (not just drafting)

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of experience in plumbing and/or fire protection design
• Background in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate with clients
• Any project management experience is a plus (not required)
