Job summary

EMC Mechanical Services is seeking a Plumbing Estimator to join our Richmond, VA team. The role focuses on takeoffs, building estimates with clear scopes, and answering questions to bid needs prior to bid date and through award.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in mechanical contracting, strong knowledge of plumbing estimates, and proficiency in MS Office and estimating software. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaboration with PMs and vendors.

• 2–4 years of experience in the mechanical contracting industry.
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing and estimating process.
• Understanding of building, mechanical and plumbing codes.
• Fluent in English verbal and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Takeoffs and building estimates with clear scopes for each project.
• Set up and maintain records of all vendor and sub quotes.
• Review drawings/specs and revisions for each job before bid submission.
• Complete takeoffs for assigned discipline/trade and prepare quotes.
• Assist in pricing change orders after a project is awarded.

The Plumbing Estimator is primarily responsible for performing take-offs and building estimates with clear scopes.
