Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience in plumbing estimating or a related construction estimating role.
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Proficiency in estimating software and/or takeoff tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors.
• Knowledge of California building codes and plumbing regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed plumbing cost estimates for residential, commercial, and/or industrial construction projects
• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and project plans to develop accurate material and labor takeoffs
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crews to align estimates with project scope
• Track and manage bid deadlines, submittals, and proposal documentation
• Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates
• Maintain and update cost databases, pricing records, and historical project data
• Attend job walks when necessary
• Work with project management and field teams during project handoff
