Job summary

Newcomb & Boyd, a multi-discipline engineering firm in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a Plumbing Engineer I to design and document complex plumbing systems using Revit. The role involves domestic water, sanitary, waste, vent, fuel, medical gas, and laboratory gas systems, plus LEED documentation.

Entry-level to five years of plumbing consulting experience is preferred. A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Solid technical base with desire to learn, lead, and grow into a Senior Engineer.
• Ability to communicate well in writing and verbally.
• Proficiency with Revit.

• Support the company with the design of complex plumbing systems.
• Prepare 2- and 3-dimensional construction documents using Revit.
• Design domestic water, sanitary, waste and vent systems, fuel systems, medical gas systems, and laboratory gas systems.
• Prepare documents and calculations for the LEED certification process.
• Coordinate design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Possess a solid technical base with desire to learn, lead, and grow into a Senior Engineer.
• Prioritizes effectively, has good follow-through, and practices self-implemented quality control measures.
• Ability to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally.
• Demonstrates proficiency with Revit.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Entry level to Five years’ (0-5) experience in the plumbing consulting business preferred.
