Jobot is seeking a seasoned Plumbing Engineer to support project teams in healthcare, higher education, and commercial buildings. You will lead plumbing system design, develop construction documents, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure projects meet budgets and client requirements.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of relevant experience, strong attention to detail, and familiarity with current plumbing and energy codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 6+ years of engineering experience with strong plumbing systems; medical gas experience preferred.
• Experience designing plumbing for healthcare, higher education or commercial buildings.
• Knowledge of current plumbing and energy codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and quality control for plumbing projects, including calculations and layouts.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure cohesive designs.
• Apply and uphold best engineering practices.
• Produce construction documents for new, renovated, and added facilities.
• Manage construction administration tasks, including site visits and shop drawing reviews.
• Identify strategies to improve cost-efficiency.
• Develop comprehensive project specifications.
• Update drawings based on QA feedback.
• Assist the director with QA reviews.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Education & Experience

• Experience designing systems for healthcare, higher education, or commercial buildings.
• Knowledge of current plumbing and energy codes.
• Project management experience is a plus but not required.

Certifications & Licenses

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam required.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related travel.
