Job summary

The Mice Groups Inc. is seeking a Plumbing Designer to prepare design and construction documents for plumbing systems in a design-build environment, covering from concept through construction drawings.

This role requires collaboration with Project Management, Construction, and Service teams. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of related experience, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, and proficiency with REVIT and AutoCAD, plus strong knowledge of plumbing

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years related experience in the design of plumbing systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management strongly desired.
• Proficient with REVIT and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of Plumbing code(s) and applicable NFPA knowledge within the industry.
• Proficient knowledge of Engineering fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete engineering design project planning from conceptual design through construction drawing development.
• Conduct analyses and design layout of equipment, duct and piping systems.
• Complete applications engineering and development/review of sequences of operation.
• Develop and review equipment submittals; coordinate with Project Management, Construction and Service departments.
• Field engineering support for project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, and problem-solving.
• Create 3D models of plumbing systems using current modeling software; assist with estimating and proposals.

OBJECTIVE: The Plumbing Designer will be responsible for preparing the design and construction documents for plumbing systems in a design-build environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete engineering design project planning (i.e., conceptual design through construction drawing development).
• Conduct one or more of the following: economic & energy analyses; load calculations, design and layout of equipment, duct and piping systems.
• Complete applications engineering.
• Development and/or review of sequences of operation.
• Develop and review equipment submittals.
• Coordinate design and installation with Project Management, Construction and Service departments.
• Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem-solving.
• Complete Computer 3D modeling of plumbing systems utilizing the latest modeling software.
• Assist or complete project estimating and proposal writing, client interaction.
• Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals, and contractors.
• Other tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 2 years related experience in the design of plumbing systems; Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management strongly desired.

• Punctual and able to meet fast deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
• Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite(Word, Excel, Outlook).
