Job summary

BR+A Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer for our Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate should have at least two years of industry experience and be proficient in Auto CAD and Revit. Responsibilities include field verification for renovation projects, coordinating with other disciplines, and managing plumbing system design.

BR+A is seeking a Plumbing Designer in our Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience and the following skills:

Skills

• Experience in specification writing
• Perform field verification and take‑offs of existing systems for renovation projects
• Coordinate with other disciplines
• Develop calculations for plumbing system sizing
• A thorough knowledge of local plumbing codes
• Understand work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the work plan
• Ability to meet with clients and work with contractors
• Oversee deliverables to and from clients
• Strongly motivated, well organized, shows professional initiative
• Take ownership of assignments and work both independently and as part of the project team

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficient in Auto CAD and Revit
• Previous experience in designing healthcare, commercial, higher education or laboratory projects
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proactive and collaborative team member
• EIT (Engineer in Training) License is a plus
