Job summary

The Indiana Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors is seeking motivated individuals for Plumbing Apprentices-in-training. This full-time program welcomes high school seniors on track to graduate and offers hands-on training with flexibility for students still in high school.

You will work with experienced plumbers to learn the trade and gain practical experience in installation, repair, and reading blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (or on track to graduate from high school)
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and repair of plumbing systems as allowed by law
• Read blueprints and troubleshoot plumbing issues
• Support experienced plumbers and learn essential skills for progression

Job description

Members of the Indiana Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors are always on the lookout for motivated and dedicated individuals to join their team as Plumbing Apprentices-in-training. This is typically a full-time position that offers hands-on training and valuable experience in the plumbing industry. High School students seeking to make a career in plumbing are also encouraged to apply, and many of the contractor members will provide flexibility to you until you have graduated from high school. This role will primarily be offered to high school seniors who are on track to graduate on time.

As a Plumbing Apprentice-in-Training, you will work alongside experienced plumbers and learn the skills and techniques necessary to become a successful plumbing apprentice. You will assist with various plumbing tasks, as are allowed by law, such as helping with the installation and repairing of plumbing systems, reading blueprints, and troubleshooting plumbing issues. This apprenticeship-in-training is designed to provide you with a well-rounded understanding of the plumbing trade and prepare you for a successful succession as a plumbing apprentice.

Our members are looking for candidates who are curious about the plumbing industry and eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to take on new challenges. No prior experience is required, but a basic understanding of plumbing concepts is preferred.
