Job summary

PremiStar is hiring a Plumbing Apprentice in Connecticut to assist licensed plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems and related equipment.

Under supervision, you will gain hands-on experience, build trade knowledge, and strengthen plumbing skills while working toward a professional license. Competitive hourly wages, benefits, and opportunities for advancement are provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma from a technical High School.
• 576 CT state‑accredited plumbing classroom hours preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of an OSHA 10 certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with varied audiences.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the plumbing trade.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed plumbers with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, piping, fixtures, water supply lines, drainage systems, and related equipment.
• Assist with service and installations including measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing pipe, fittings, valves, fixtures, and other plumbing materials.
• Assist plumbers with troubleshooting plumbing issues, inspecting pipes and fixtures, identifying leaks or damage, and performing repairs under supervision.
• Assist plumbers however possible, taking the time to get familiar with tools, equipment, materials, plumbing codes, and proper procedures.
• Maintain a clean work environment, gathering all tools and materials at the end of the day.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Plumbing Apprentice will assist with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, piping, fixtures, and related equipment. The Apprentice will work under the guidance of licensed plumbers to develop hands‑on experience, build trade knowledge, and strengthen their plumbing skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with varied audiences, e.g., project managers.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the plumbing trade.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Requires physical work, lifting, pushing and/or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, sitting, squatting, bending, working in confined spaces, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Exposure to hot & cold temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, wet or damp conditions, and/or loud noises.

Salary & Benefits

$17.50 - $24.04 per hour based on experience
