James Madison University is seeking a Plumber/Steamfitter Lead in Harrisonburg, VA. This full-time role requires master-level plumbing and steamfitting skills to service and install a wide range of systems, including plumbing, steam, fire sprinkler, and gas equipment.

You will lead plumber steamfitters, provide troubleshooting support to the team, and collaborate with supervision. A Master Plumber License and Backflow Certification are required, with on-call rotation and strong communication

Qualifications

• Master level plumbing/steamfitting skills for a wide variety of equipment.
• Backflow Prevention Device Worker Certification is required.
• Master Plumber License is required.

Responsibilities

General Information:

James Madison University's Facilities Management Is currently hiring for a Plumber/Steamfitter Lead. This position will perform master level technical tasks in plumbing, gas , fire sprinkler and steam fitting trades.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Servicing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing commercial and residential plumbing, steam, fire sprinkler, gas, food service, swimming pool, lawn sprinkler, heating, laboratory and other equipment as assigned
• Providing leadership, troubleshooting assistance and communication to plumber steamfitters while providing support to the supervisor
• Installing plumbing, steam or other equipment as assigned, this may include designing and/or specification elements

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with commercial, institutional and residential plumbing , heating, steam equipment , welding, soldering, backflow devices, pressure reducing valves, ACV's and plumbing code
• Must have master level plumbing/steamfitting skills as they apply to a wide variety of equipment
• Must possess a Backflow Prevention Device Worker Certification
• Must posses a Master Plumber License
• Ability to communicate effectively in a written and oral format
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to accommodate any necessary temporary shift demands and be available for the required rotating on call responsibilities
