Job Summary
Install plumbing and HVAC systems in field locations with an emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, training, and teamwork.
Reports To
Supervisor / Leadman / Foreman on site.
Job Requirements
- Able to work Monday‑Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Must be flexible with work schedule.
- Possess a current, valid driver’s license (not under suspension or limitation) for occasional jobsite visits.
- Reliable transportation to travel to sites in Metro DC as assigned.
- Minimum 5‑6 years of experience in plumbing and HVAC piping.
- Must be able to read and understand drawings (including fabrication).
- Interacts effectively with teammates and follows verbal and written instructions.
- Communicates effectively in English (aural, verbal, and written).
- Able to lift five to fifty pounds (5‑75lbs), with or without assistance, frequently.
- Able to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb, and remain in static positions for the duration of shift.
- Able to withstand exposure to heights, tight/confined spaces, dusty areas, temperature extremes, and external elements (wind, rain, etc.).
- Able to handle, protect, and maintain the confidentiality of information.
- Possesses a strong desire, willingness, and ability to learn new tasks.
Job Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe to required angles using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, threading machines, or pipe‑bending machines.
- Locate and mark positions of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels.
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering and brazing.
- Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, fixtures using hand or power tools.
- Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes or pipe fittings using hand or power tools.
- Install underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as needed to connect fixtures and plumbing.
- Complete all tasks in a timely manner.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed.
