Job summary

NMSU seeks a Plumber Lead to supervise journey-level plumbers and trades helpers on campus projects in Las Cruces. You will lead repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems, inspect work, and plan schedules and resource usage to ensure timely completion.

The role requires a NM Journeyman Plumbing License (and NM Journeyman Gas Fitter License), a high school diploma with 4 years of experience or an Associate’s degree with 2 years, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
• NM Journeyman Plumbing License required.
• NM Journeyman Gas Fitter License required.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Leads the work of Journey-level Plumbers and Trades Helpers; participates in repair, maintenance, inspection and installation of systems.
• Assigns and inspects the work of Plumbers and Trades Helpers; initiates corrective action to ensure standards and timely completion.
• Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage, and procedures for equipment maintenance; estimates material and labor.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Leads the work of Journey-level Plumbers and Trades Helpers and participates in the repair, maintenance, inspection and installation of systems and Journey-level crafts projects. Assigns and inspects the work of Plumbers and Trades Helpers; initiates corrective action to secure satisfactory standards and timely project completion. Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment maintenance. Determines material and labor estimates. Participates in maintenance, repair and installation duties in the trades.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma + 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s
