Position Overview

Responsible for the general mechanical work required for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing equipment and systems, for the efficient operation of designated County building(s).

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to plumbing operations at county facilities, including estimating, installing, and repairing pipes, fixtures, and fittings.
• Drive personal or county vehicle to various work sites as needed.
• Assist and train less experienced co-workers.
• Be on-call after hours as required.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Experience: Four (4) years of hands-on experience repairing plumbing equipment and systems in commercial/industrial settings. Current Journeyman Plumber License.

Licensure: Valid Texas driver’s license and a good driving record. Current Journeyman Plumber License.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read blueprints, skilled in use of plumbing tools, mechanical aptitude, courteous behavior, interpersonal skills, ability to pass CJIS clearance, security check, and drug test. Position is safety-sensitive and subject to random drug testing.

Additional Preferences: Backflow Prevention License.

Additional Information: Position is full-time, salary is commensurate with experience, and involves working in various environmental conditions. Employment contingent on passing a drug screen and other standards.
