Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking a Plumber II in the Building & Structures (Trade Shops) section to perform skilled plumbing and gas fitting work, install, repair and modify plumbing systems in accordance with codes, and supervise Plumbers, Trades Trainees, and Maintenance Workers. You will coordinate work, work without direct supervision, and collaborate in a team environment.

The role covers maintenance for over 430 park buildings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved plumbing/gas fitting apprentice program or four years of progressively responsible experience.
• Two years at the journey level.
• Valid Journey Plumber License and Gas Fitter Certification.
• Valid driver's license; CDL may be required depending on area.
• Pass Commission medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled plumbing and gas fitting work on plumbing systems and piping.
• Install, maintain, repair, replace or modify plumbing and gas systems per codes.
• Coordinate and inspect work of Plumbers, Trades Trainees, and Maintenance Workers.
• Work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
