Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our Facilities team. You will assemble, install and repair pipes and fixtures that support medical gas, steam, heating, cooling, and water systems in a hospital environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 3–5 years of plumbing experience, and a Journeyman’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days. On-call rotations and after-hours work are required to keep critical systems running.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years plumbing experience; 5+ preferred.
• Journeyman’s Plumbing License or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Willingness for after-hours, weekend and holiday work including on-call.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems, piping, valves and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot leaks and clogged drains.
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
• Respond to facilities emergencies to minimize interruptions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Collaborate with Facilities colleagues, contractors and vendors to keep systems operating.
