Job Summary

The Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment within the healthcare facility. This role ensures that all plumbing systems function efficiently, safely, and in compliance with building codes and facility standards. The Plumber works independently or as part of a team to diagnose issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and respond to urgent repairs to support patient care and facility operations.

Essential Functions
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, medical gas piping, and other facility plumbing components.
  • Troubleshoots plumbing issues, diagnosing and repairing leaks, clogs, pipe breaks, and malfunctioning fixtures.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment, ensuring proper operation and compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes.
  • Assembles, installs, and tests new plumbing components, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, pumps, and backflow prevention devices.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan plumbing installations and modifications.
  • Monitors and maintains medical gas distribution systems, ensuring proper function and adherence to healthcare safety regulations.
  • Works collaboratively with maintenance teams, contractors, and other facility staff to coordinate plumbing-related projects and repairs.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed, inspections, and system status, ensuring documentation meets regulatory requirements.
  • Responds promptly to emergency plumbing calls, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations and patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
