Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Manager of Plant Operations, the plumber position at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in the facility. Responsibilities include diagnosing plumbing issues, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, be detail-oriented, and effectively communicate with clients to provide solutions. A valid plumbing license and experience with various plumbing tools and systems are essential. As driving may be required, a valid driver’s license is also required. This role requires both independent work and collaboration with other trades, making problem-solving skills crucial for success. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities:

  • Will assist other Plant Operations divisions when requested by another Supervisor or Manager or Director
  • Offers an “extra pair of hands” when needed.
  • Makes necessary repairs pertaining to plumbing and maintenance equipment.
  • Utilizes appropriate communication and conflict resolution skills when responding to those who report concerns to him/her including staff or patients.
  • Monitors tools and materials, recognizes position-specific responsibilities.
  • Trains those who report to him/her regarding all position specific requirements.
  • Ensures all tools, equipment, and products/parts being purchased within scope of responsibility are made of quality material and are purchased at the best cost possible.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.

  • Completion of an apprenticeship program required.

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience required.

  • Valid plumber license required.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Basic computer skills:

    • Knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and safety practices.
    • Ability to read blueprints.
    • Strong physical stamina for the demands of the position.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, time management skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
