Job Brief

As a Plumber Apprentice, you will work with a licensed plumber to gain hands-on experience with all duties connected with the installation, maintenance, and repair of all piping and plumbing facilities throughout the Simsbury, CT plant.

*Starting pay is $34.32 an hour*

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with expected overtime

What You'll Do

As a Plumber Apprentice, you will work with a licensed plumber to gain hands-on experience with all duties connected with the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping and plumbing facilities throughout the plant. Duties may include:

• Installing or repairing piping for waste, sewage, vents, hot and cold water for domestic and steam systems for heating and process.
• Assembling compressed air and hydraulic systems for production equipment.
• Maintaining fire protection equipment and systems (e.g., fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems).
• Performing routine repair and maintenance on the plant boiler, including collecting and maintaining data logs on steam plant operation.
• Other duties include sheet lead and solder work and maintaining chemical levels in plant boilers.

What We're Looking For:

• Four years of technical schooling in the plumbing discipline; or
• High school diploma/GED and two years of technical schooling in the plumbing discipline.
• Ability to work at heights from a ladder or bucket truck.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
