Job summary

Culligan is seeking a mechanically inclined individual for a Water Treatment Service Technician role in Dixon, IL. You will complete a 7-week hands-on training program combining classroom learning, shop time, and field training, then install water softeners and filtration systems in customers’ homes.

You’ll earn hourly wages with commissions and lead fees, plus sign-on and retention bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package after 60 days.

Qualifications

• Enjoy working with their hands, problem solving and working with customers.
• Naturally handy or mechanically inclined.
• Comfortable working physically and in tight spaces.
• Plumbing/mechanical experience is preferred but not required.
• Do not need a college degree.
• Can lift 80 lbs.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Install new water treatment systems in customers' homes or businesses.
• Analyze and diagnose customer water quality issues.
• Repair water conditioning, drinking water, and related equipment.
• Educate customers on system use and care.
• Manage service documentation.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Service to ensure exceptional service.
• Safely operate a company vehicle.
• Use power tools, hand tools, pipe fittings, and other equipment to install and service water treatment systems.
• Use plumbing training to support daily work.

Are you mechanically inclined, enjoy working with your hands, and want to learn a skilled trade with long-term earning potential?

This is a Water Treatment Service Technician position, not a traditional plumbing apprenticeship. You will not work under a licensed plumber or earn plumbing apprenticeship hours.

Instead, you will complete a 7 week hands on training program that combines classroom learning, shop time, and field training. By the end of the program, you will have the skills and confidence to successfully install water softeners, filtration systems, and other water treatment equipment in customers’ homes, along with a clear career path for continued growth and advancement.

Schedule Options

We offer flexibility to fit your lifestyle:

• 8-hour shift, 5 days per week
• Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday
• Optional 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
