Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta seeks a skilled plumber to install, maintain, and repair commercial and healthcare plumbing systems in a high-demand hospital environment.

You will read prints, coordinate with contractors, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure compliant, safe operations. A HS Diploma and 2+ years of healthcare/plumbing experience are preferred, with a strong focus on code adherence and emergency responsiveness.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and related equipment.

Job Summary

Conducts planning and documentation activities. Read prints and drawings to determine procedures, applicability in field, and needs for jobs/projects. Obtains materials to complete jobs/projects. Updates, gathers, and verifies information on prints. Draws and documents “as built” prints for all design and field changes. Completes daily activity paperwork including recording time and materials expenditures on projects and work orders Installs plumbing systems and fixtures in compliance with codes. Installs plumbing systems and specialty systems including air, non-ptable water, condensation, heating, steam, etc. Traces water and steam lines for valves for shutdowns. Field checks construction projects to ensure accurate print information (and ensures codes are met) such as location of pipes, valves and hanger supports, pipe sizes, etc. Troubleshoots and repairs plumbing systems and fixtures in compliance with codes. Troubleshoots and repairs plugged or broken drain and sewer lines, pipes and fixtures, leaking pipes, faucets and fixtures, problems with backflow preventors, etc. Prioritizes and responds to all emergency plumbing calls. Assists contractors and construction plumbers with system shutdowns. Performs preventative maintenance inspections on all plumbing systems, for example: film processor drains, city water loop, water filters, drain and sewer machines, and plumbing mains, etc. Also, maintains and tests backflow preventors.

Must have a HS Diploma 2+ years of job related experience in commercial or healthcare industry. Healthcare experience preferred.
