Job summary

Vinik Sports Group is seeking a maintenance plumber to keep the arena's plumbing systems running smoothly and safely. You will maintain preventive maintenance programs, troubleshoot issues, and assist with new pipe work and fixtures while working with other trades to ensure an optimal guest experience.

The role requires a Journeyman license (recommended), five years of trade experience, ability to read blueprints, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and selected holidays.

Qualifications

• Journeyman plumbing license recommended.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and decipher blueprints, schematics, and equipment documents.
• Five years of trade experience.
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing codes.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and selected holidays.
• Computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for plumbing systems, backflow preventers, traps, etc.
• Troubleshoot and repair toilets, urinals, flush controls, and other plumbing issues.
• Assist with new pipe work and fixture installations.
• Assist, as required, other skilled trades in maintenance tasks and represent Vinik Sports Group professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program in the areas of pipework systems, backflow preventers, cartridge changes, grease traps, etc Trouble shoot and repair a variety of plumbing issues, including toilets, urinals, flush controls Some new install of pipe work and fixtures Assist, as required, other skilled trades in a variety of maintenance repairs. Represent Vinik Sports Group professionally at all times Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Recommended Journeyman Plumbing license
• Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED required
• Ability to work in large crowds for an extended period of time
• Ability to lift 25 pounds without accommodation
• Five (5) years trade experience
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing codes
• Strong understanding of equipment

Overview

Vinik Sports Group (VSG) is an entity established by Jeff Vinik to manage the three-time Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning (2004, 2020, 2021) of the National Hockey League and hold the leasehold rights to Benchmark International Arena, the 19,092-seat downtown Tampa home in which the team plays its games. The venue opened in 1996 and became Benchmark International Arena in August 2025 when the global mergers and acquisitions firm, Benchmark International, partnered with Vinik and the Lightning.
