Schweitzer is seeking a full-time year-round Plumber at Snowshoe, WV. The role requires a Master Plumber License and skilled installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems. Qualifications

• Requires Master Plumber License and demonstrated experience with advanced plumbing installation, maintenance, repair, and code compliance.
• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is required.
• Experience working in a plumbing role with attention to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Study building plans to determine required work aids and installation sequence.
• Inspect structures to avoid obstructions and ensure safe installations.
• Locate and mark pipe connections and passage holes in walls/floors.
• Cut openings in walls/floors for pipes and fittings; cut and thread pipes.
• Assemble and install valves, fittings, and pipes of metals and nonmetals.
• Weld and join pipes; install plumbing fixtures; repair leaks and damaged components.
• Test systems for leaks and ensure proper operation after installation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
• Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
• Locates and marks position of pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
• Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Cuts and threads pipe.
• Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
• Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, copper lead and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay and plastic.
• Joins pipes by use of screws, threads, flanges, compression, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent and caulks joints.
• Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
• Installs and repairs pluming fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwasher and water softeners.
• Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes and opening clogged drains.
• Welds holding fixtures to steel structural members.

Education:

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

Experience:

• Requires a valid Master Plumber License and demonstrated experience performing advanced plumbing installation, maintenance, repair, and code compliance work.
