Job summary

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Indianapolis is seeking experienced plumbers to join our team under NEW management. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing residential and light commercial plumbing, reading blueprints, ensuring codes, maintaining vehicles, and delivering top-quality customer

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable plumbing experience in residential service.
• Knowledge of local and national plumbing codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Basic change order cost estimating experience.
• Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential and light commercial service calls to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues.
• Identify potential problems to prevent premature or unexpected breakdowns/callbacks.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems carrying water, waste, and fuel in heating.
• Inspect water and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions.
• Repair or replace plumbing fixtures, test joints, and pipe systems.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements.
• Review blueprints, building codes or specifications to determine work details and procedure.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, ream, and install pipe and pipe fittings.
• Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances or fixtures using hand or power tools.
• Maintain a properly cleaned and stocked service vehicle.
• Participate in periodic inventory and truck inspections.
• Provide pricing to the customer for approval prior to performing any work.
• Maintain safety-conscious use of all tools and equipment.
