Job summary

Wmchealth is seeking a seasoned licensed plumber to maintain hospital plumbing and related systems, including water, sewer, steam, medical gases, and compressed air. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to calls, and support boiler PM coverage to ensure compliance and safe operations.

Requirements include 3–5 years of plumbing experience, an apprenticeship or related training, a NYS driver's license, and preferably a licensed plumber. Reading and writing English is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Repairs faucets, toilets, traps, kitchen equipment, hot water and steam units, sprinklers.
• Makes emergency repairs to all piping systems, water, sewer, etc.; repairs high pressure steam lines.
• Inspects, maintains and repairs medical gases, oxygen, suction, medical air, etc.
• Performs preventative maintenance and overhaul of valve stems
• Performs preventative maintenance repair of pumps, water, air, vacuum, etc.
• Repairs equipment, i.e., sterilizers, autoclaves and bed pan hoppers, etc.
• Maintains adequate stock of supplies required in assigned tasks
• Maintains current knowledge of State and local plumbing codes
• Completes required paperwork properly, using computer technology enhancements, as required; fulfills annual mandatory employee testing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Job description

To assure a healthy, functional Hospital environment through the proper operation, control and maintenance of all piped-mechanical systems including: water, sewer, steam, medical gases, compressed air and natural gases. Monthly fire inspections, PM fire systems and or any other duties as directed to maintain compliance. Answer all calls - maintenance. Boiler PM coverage.
