Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a qualified Plumber to operate, maintain, and repair piped-mechanical systems including water, sewer, steam, medical gases, and compressed air. You will perform monthly fire inspections, PM fire systems, and respond to maintenance calls to keep our hospital running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of plumbing experience, reads and writes English, and understands local codes.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of plumbing maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Knowledge of piping systems and building codes.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Repairs faucets, toilets, traps, kitchen equipment, hot water and steam units, sprinklers, etc.
• Makes emergency repairs to piping systems including water and sewer; repairs high pressure steam lines.
• Inspects, maintains and repairs medical gases, oxygen, suction, and medical air.
• Performs preventative maintenance and overhaul of valve stems.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repair of pumps, water, air, vacuum, etc.
• Repairs equipment such as sterilizers, autoclaves, and bed pan hoppers.
• Maintains adequate stock of supplies for assigned tasks.
• Keeps current knowledge of State and local plumbing codes.
• Completes required paperwork, using computer tools; fulfills annual mandatory employee testing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Monthly fire inspections, PM fire systems and or any other duties as directed to maintain compliance. Answer all calls - maintenance. Boiler PM coverage.

Licences/Certifications

• Plumbing apprenticeship or related trade school training or other directly related experience.
• Licensed Plumber preferred
