Job summary

People Working Cooperatively, Inc. is seeking a skilled plumber to assemble, install, and repair piping systems in low-income residential settings across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The role emphasizes safe, code-compliant work with a focus on fixtures, pipes, and valves.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of plumbing experience, holds a Journeyman's License, and is licensed in Ohio and/or Kentucky, with Master Contractor license preferred. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Two to five years plumbing experience.

• Licensed in Ohio and/or Kentucky.
• Master Contractor license preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to complete required paperwork on computer or tablet.
• Ability and willingness to be flexible in areas such as work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.
• Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, etc.
• Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
• Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
• Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
• Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
• Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Cuts and threads pipe.

Position Overview

Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems. Performs other general repair duties as assigned.
