Job summary

Killeen ISD is seeking a Plumber Apprentice to assist the plumber in installing and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems. This role involves practical hands-on work and collaborating with skilled plumbers.

The position requires a High school diploma or GED with preferred plumbing service experience. Physical stamina is essential, and a valid driver's license is required. Day-to-day duties include prep work, cleaning, and supporting the lead plumber.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site.
  • Traces out short clogs in pipes.
  • Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as pipes and plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.
  • Disassembles defective plumbing equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Performs other routine duties and any tasks assigned by the Lead Plumber, Plumbers, or Plant Services Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site.
  • Traces out short clogs in pipes.
  • Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as pipes and plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.
  • Disassembles defective plumbing equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Performs other routine duties and any tasks assigned by the Lead Plumber, Plumbers, or Plant Services Supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

Possess current driver's license.
