Vallivue School District in Caldwell, Idaho, is seeking a skilled journeyman plumber to maintain and repair plumbing systems across district facilities.

You will inspect, install, and repair pipes and fixtures; read blueprints; ensure safety compliance; respond to emergencies; and participate in training. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Journeyman plumber license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Inspect plumbing systems and identify repair needs.
• Install pipes and plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets).
• Repair/replace defective plumbing parts.
• Clear obstructions from sinks and toilets.
• Perform routine maintenance and check for leaks.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting plumbing systems and identifying issues that need repair or replacement.
• Installing pipes and plumbing fixtures such as sinks and toilets.
• Repairing or replacing damaged parts in plumbing systems.
• Clearing obstructions from sink drains and toilets.
• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as checking for leaks and maintaining faucets and fixtures.
• Responding to plumbing emergencies promptly and efficiently.
• Interpreting blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes and drainage systems.
• Providing cost estimates for plumbing services and products.
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and building regulations.
• Maintaining an inventory of plumbing supplies and equipment and completing work orders.
• Calibrates pneumatic testing equipment.
• Assembles, positions and mounts plumbing equipment, following blueprints.
• Purchases parts for immediate and future needs, in accordance with District policies and procedures.
• Studies specifications in blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals and building plans.
• Initiates communication with supervisor about needed repairs or status of projects.

• Calibrates pneumatic testing equipment;
• Assembles, positions and mounts plumbing equipment, following blueprints;
• Purchases parts for immediate and future needs, in accordance with District policies and procedures;
• Studies specifications in blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals and building plans;
• Estimates amount and kind of materials required and notifies supervisor of need for materials;
• Initiates communication with supervisor about needed repairs or status of projects;
• Performs maintenance and minor repair on tools and equipment;
• Attends and actively participates in required training classes.
