Responsibilities

• Load ingredients into mixing machine hopper from conveyor, scales, or hand trucks.
• Start machine and adjust valves to admit steam or cooling fluids.
• Operate machine until mixture reaches desired consistency and unload into container or conveyor.
• Attend to automatic mixing machine maintaining adequate levels of ingredients.
• Dump cheese curd into totes and monitor waste reductions.
• Record temperature of batter and usage for start-up charges.
• Set up equipment for start-up and changeover; complete preventive maintenance.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:Operates mixing machine to blend ingredients into compounds for processing by performing the following duties. This position provides these responsibilities for both Heinz Line and Appetizer line products produced.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Load ingredients into mixing machine hopper from conveyor, scales, or hand trucks, or directs other workers in performing this taskStart machine and adjust valves to admit steam or cooling fluids to steam jacket or devices in mixing chamber to aid in blending and densifying mixtureOperate machine until mixture reaches desired consistency, and turn lever to unload mixture into container, conveyor, or mill for sheetingOperate auxiliary equipment to break up, grind, dry mix, or otherwise prepare mixture for final processingAttend to automatic mixing machine by maintaining adequate levels of ingredientsDump cheese curd into totesMonitor waste reductionsRecord temperature of batterRecord usage for start-up chargesMake adjustments on equipment for efficient operations and product quality, such as levels of batter for proper coverageSet up equipment for start-up and change overComplete preventive maintenance as neededRecord downtime and ingredient lot codesWeigh and record waste assigned by SupervisorEnsure company goals are met through continuous line improvementsMaintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good manufacturing practicesMust wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as providedMust follow all plant food safety and person safety rules and proceduresWork with enthusiasm and sense of urgency daily.Pull potatoes from cooler to production linesUses manual and electric pallet jacks to move productsPerform line worker positions when necessaryDocument each pallet on puller sheetMove dirty trays to washroomMay perform belt checksStack unused palletsThis role will require extended hours based on production needs, including work to be performed after regular business hours and on weekends.Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:Ability to understand and communicate effectively. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and electrically powered equipment.
