Job summary

Enbridge Inc. is seeking a Pipeline Maintenance Technician II to help maintain the integrity of our pipeline systems, perform specialized maintenance activities, support emergency response, and ensure safe operation of critical energy infrastructure.

This full-time, non-union role requires residency within 25 miles to respond to emergencies and a high school diploma. The position offers field and office work with regular travel and potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of operations or maintenance experience in a crude oil pipeline, terminal, tank farm, delivery facility, or related industrial environment.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply company operating procedures, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized pipeline maintenance activities, including pipeline repairs, sleeving, emergency repairs, and stopple operations.
  • Support pipeline integrity programs by launching and receiving inline inspection tools, installing test leads, and completing other integrity-related tasks.
  • Respond to emergency situations by assisting with containment, repair, cleanup, and preventative actions to help minimize operational risks.
  • Operate and maintain pipeline, terminal, and station facilities while ensuring compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards.
  • Act as a Company representative or contract inspector when required, supporting project execution and contractor oversight.
  • Complete Operator Qualification requirements and performance-based training to safely perform covered tasks independently.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, contractors, and field personnel to support maintenance projects and ongoing system reliability.

As a Pipeline Maintenance Technician II, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our pipeline systems, performing specialized maintenance activities, supporting emergency response efforts, and helping ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical energy infrastructure.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform routine and specialized pipeline maintenance activities, including pipeline repairs, sleeving, emergency repairs, and stopple operations.

  • Act as a Company representative or contract inspector when required, supporting project execution and contractor oversight.

Who You Are:
  • Must reside 25 miles in area to respond to emergencies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1- 2 years of operations or maintenance experience in a crude oil pipeline, terminal, tank farm, delivery facility, or related industrial environment.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply company operating procedures, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL, Crane certification, and Hazmat tanker endorsement within 1-1.5 years of employment.
  • Ability to become qualified to operate stopple equipment and perform Operator Qualified tasks.
  • May be required to be fit tested for a respirator depending on the atmospheric conditions.
Preferred:
  • Experience performing pipeline maintenance, integrity, or construction-related activities.
  • Previous emergency response experience within the pipeline, oil and gas, utility, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and supporting field-based projects.
  • Knowledge of pipeline integrity management programs and maintenance best practices.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in both field and office environments. Regular travel, including overnight stays, will be required (approximately 40%) Frequent work at construction and maintenance sites across the operating area. Overtime, on-call availability, and emergency response participation may be required. Exposure to varying weather conditions and physically demanding work environments. Position requires independent decision-making, flexibility, and the ability to respond to changing priorities. Must be able to perform heavy manual work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, kneeling, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
  • Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:
  • Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
Salary:

Ranges from $30.50 - 40.50 per hour USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
