Job summary

Enbridge is seeking an Electrical Technician II to maintain and support pipeline facilities and equipment across the Southwest Region. The role suits hands-on electrical professionals who troubleshoot complex systems outdoors and contribute to critical energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and supporting capital projects while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate Maximo documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
  • Technical or vocational education in an applicable field is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of related electrical maintenance experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Ability to reside within 40 miles of the reporting location.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on electrical equipment to support safe pipeline operations.
  • Maintain and repair facilities and equipment including motors, switchgear, MCCs, instrumentation.
  • Support capital projects and facility upgrades with regional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete maintenance documentation and work orders in Maximo and other systems.
  • participate in on‑call rotation and provide emergency response as needed.
  • Assist with contractor oversight and materials acquisition for maintenance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on electrical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, working outdoors, and contributing to the performance of critical energy infrastructure.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical equipment to support safe and efficient pipeline operations.

  • Maintain and repair a variety of pipeline facilities and equipment, including motors, switchgear, motor control centers, instrumentation, and related systems.

  • Support capital projects, facility upgrades, and maintenance activities while coordinating with regional operations and technical teams.

  • Ensure compliance with company standards, maintenance programs, Operator Qualification requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Complete maintenance documentation, inspections, and work orders within Maximo and other required systems.

  • Participate in the maintenance on‑call rotation and provide emergency response support as required.

  • Assist with contractor oversight, equipment evaluations, and the acquisition of materials needed to support maintenance and operational activities.

Who You Are:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Technical or vocational education in an applicable field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of related electrical maintenance experience.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

  • Ability to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) and establish a CMV qualification file.

  • Ability to reside within, or relocate within, 40 miles of the reporting location.

Preferred:
  • Electrical Journeyman certification or participation in an accredited apprenticeship program.

  • Industrial Electrician or Instrumentation experience, including HVAC/R systems.

  • Experience supporting crude oil pipeline systems, pumping stations, terminals, or related energy infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with pumps, motors, valves, flow meters, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), switchgear, motor control centers, UPS systems, and instrumentation.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems.

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily field‑based position with outdoor work in varying weather conditions, alongside occasional office‑based activities including training, meetings, and administrative tasks.

  • Participation in a maintenance on‑call rotation and emergency response activities is required and available for emergency call 24 hours a day as needed.

  • 100% Drug Free and alcohol free when on duty as Maintenance On‑Call or emergency response.

  • Overnight travel of approximately 10-25 days annually may be required.

  • Work may involve exposure to high‑noise environments, crude oil vapors, solvents, and industrial operating facilities.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 85 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short‑term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $32.25 – $42.25 per hour USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
